Wenger Angry With Bentley

Arsene WengerAfter hearing the comments made by former player David Bentley that stated that Theo Walcott should quit Arsenal to play first team football, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told Bentley to ‘shut up’.

Bentley made the comments advising Walcott that if he wanted to play first team football he must leave Arsenal to do so. Bentley was at Arsenal for five years and hardly got a look in with the first team. He quit the club to join Blackburn in 2006 and has since being an integral part of the Blackburn team.

Walcott has not featured on a regular basis for Arsenal and has been used mainly from the bench. The 18 year old striker featured from the bench in last week’s Champions League match against AC Milan. He was only given 19 minutes but set up Emmanuel Adebayor to score the second goal in the 2-0 victory.

Walcott moved to Arsenal from Southampton in 2006 and commanded a £5 million transfer fee. Arsene Wenger said that Walcott still has bags of time to become a better player and has years of first team football ahead of him.
