Arsenal striker Theo Walcott has admitted that he went to see Arsene Wenger and asked him about the lack of chances to play for the first team, despite him feeling he was playing well enough to be included.

19-year old Walcott has not yet become a regular starter for Arsenal and has been feeling frustrated by the lack of games.

Walcott has revealed that he believes sometimes Arsene Wenger was wrong to not play him and admitted that he was very nervous when he approached the Arsenal manager to find out what more he had to do to get more games.

He said he was glad he asked Arsene Wenger what he had to do but was very nervous about asking him. Walcott added that Wenger was fine with him and told him what he had to do.

Walcott has put in some sparkling performances for Arsenal in the past few weeks and now see’s himself ready to step up to play a vital role in the first team.

Many people have compared Walcott to former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry but Walcott has played down the comparison. He did however say that he was hopeful his own career would follow a similar pattern to that of Henry’s.

Walcott said he has become more aggressive in his style of play and hopes he can play as a striker for the club next season. He added that he would play anywhere he was asked to by Wenger as long as he was playing regularly.
