Villa Defends Underfire TorresSpain forward David Villa has backed strike-partner Fernando Torres to come good in the World Cup despite the Liverpool forward’s poor form.
Torres had to undergo knee surgery before the tournament in South Africa started and has looked off the pace.
And he is still looking for his first goal in the competition, while Villa has found the net on four occasions to help Spain stay on course.
Villa said: “I don't agree with those who say that Fernando Torres' performances have been below par. The only blame you can pin on him is that he hasn't scored.”
