It has been plaudits all round in the Uruguay camp, as forwards have credited striking colleagues and defenders alike for their Group A triumph.

 

Ahead of La Celeste’s last 16 clash with South Korea, striker Luis Suarez said: “We control games very well, mainly down to our amazing defence. We feel very safe with them.”

Meanwhile, striker Sebastian Abreu has heaped the praise on Suarez and strike partner Diego Forlan, the men keeping him out of the starting line-up in South Africa.

He said: “We have the best forwards in the world; we all have so much confidence in them.”
