Greece defender Traianos Dellas is pretty confident that the European champions can go a long way as they attempt to put the defeat by Sweden behind them when they face off with Russia in Salzburg on Saturday.

With both sides suffering from first day defeats, it is very important for them to win. Defeat for either of the two teams would leave them on the brink of elimination. The AEK Athens centre back Dellas, belives the reports of a greek demise is exaggerated . He also added that the team has great potential and can achieve great things. He also reminded everybody that they are still among the 16 best teams in Europe.

Otto Rehhagel’s Greece side have to do a lot better if they are to beat the Russians. After losing to Sweden on Tuesday, the Greece team came in for intense criticism from the media for a defensive minded approach. "We lost our first encounter and there's a very tough match ahead. We will try our level best to win in order to improve our qualifying chances." said the 32 year old Greece defender.
