After a dreadful start to the season by their own standards the juggernaut that is Manchester United is beginning to gather momentum. Nemanja Vidic claimed the winner for the club at Goodison Park to help steer the Premiership champions back on the right track.

After a summer spending spree bringing in a number of top names it was expected by many that United would romp home and hold onto their Premiership title. However, with their haphazard start to the season coupled with the blinding form of clubs such as Liverpool the title chase is not as it seemed. Manchester United are suffering similar problems to that of Mourinho’s club. Both clubs are going through a goal drought by their own standards. It is now 11 games since Manchester United scored more than a single goal. The statistic is worrying for a club boasting some of the biggest attacking names in world football.

A return for Wayne Rooney following a metatarsal injury should ease the problems but fellow frontman Tevez still needs to get off the mark after his move from West Ham.
