Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez named his side to face France in their opening World Cup Group A match, making two changes from the side which beat Israel 4-1 in their only warm-up match.

Defender Mauricio Victorino, who has only four caps to his name, and midfielder Egidio Arevalo replace Andres Scotti and Walter Gargano, whose training ground collision with star striker Diego Forlan this week caused brief consternation in the Celestes camp.

Forlan was not seriously injured, however, and resumes his strike partnership with Ajax’s Luis Suarez, who bagged 49 goals in all competitions for the Dutch giants in 2009/10.
