Tuncay Expects To Be FitTurkey are likely to have striker Tuncay Sanli fit for their opening Euro 2008 fixture against Portugal on Saturday after he was able to complete a training session yesterday.
The news comes as a relief to coach Fatih Terim after the Middlesbrough striker was unable to train for two days after he had picked up a muscle injury in his back. There were initial concerns that he may struggle to be available for the start of Euro 2008. The 26 year old is regarded as a key member of the Turkey squad and should be an important player this summer. Since his move from Fenerbahce last year to the English Premier League, he has enjoyed a good spell of form following a slow start. He has scored 8 goals for Middlesbrough including the winner in a Premier League match against Arsenal.
Tuncay made his debut for Turkey in 2002 and has played 54 times, scoring 16 goals. Tags: Turkey, Tuncay Sanli, Fatih Terim, Euro 2008 Posted: |
