Trotters Look Ahead

Owen Coyle finished the January transfer window with a flourish and three new players added to his squad.

He finally captured long-time target Jack Wilshere from Arsenal on loan and was clearly delighted. “Jack is a talented, young, hungry player who I think has got a bright future ahead of him,' He has got an abundance of quality and he will enhance our squad” said the recently installed Bolton boss.

Also joining on loan is Vladimir Weiss who is keen for a shot at first team action to bolster his World Cup chances. His father is the current Czechoslovakian team coach. Stuart Holden has signed on a free transfer after leaving Houston Dynamo of the MLS. The US international was born in Scotland but has a dozen caps for his adopted country.

Bolton captain Kevin Davies is hoping that the new blood will help the team climb away from the danger at the bottom. Wanderers have only a point advantage over a bottom three spot and Davies is keen for this to improve. "It has been a tough month with us playing twice a week. Fulham have a game on Wednesday as well so we will look to use that to our advantage," he said. “We all believe we can push on up the table and open up a gap from the relegation zone."
