A £6.7m transfer is tabled for Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure as he is expected to switch from Monaco to Barcelona. The 24 year old is the younger brother of gunners defender Kolo Toure. He is expected to sign a 4 year deal once he passed his medical this week.

Toure has only featured at Monaco for a year since his move from Olympiakos. Prior to this he had stints with Beveren in Belgium and Metalurg Donetsk in Ukraine. Toure is one of many new signings for Barca as they look to strengthen their squad after losing out to Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga. The competition had a nail biting finish with last day results deciding the winners.

After signing Thierry Henry from Arsenal Barcelona are also said to be in talks with AS Roma as they pursue Romanian international defender Cristian Chivu.
