Theo Walcott - EnglandArsenal’s Theo Walcott will almost certainly feature at some point during England’s campaign. The youngest player ever to score a hat-trick for England and the headline maker in 2006, when Sven Goran Eriksson included the-then 17 year-old in his squad for Germany before the former Southampton trainee had even played a first team Premier League match, has devastating pace and can be a match winner on his day. ![]() Walcott made only 21 appearances for Southampton and scored four times before Arsene Wenger paid what was then a record £5M for a teenager to bring him to the Emirates Stadium. He scored the Gunners opener at the Millennium Stadium during the 2007 Carling Cup final although they lost 2-1. His England debut came on 30th May 2006 when he became the youngest player to pull on the Three Lions at 17 years and 75 days. His first, second and third international goals came against Croatia in a 2010 World Cup qualifier making him the youngest ever English international hat-trick hero. Whilst his form has not been consistent over the past couple of years, a fully fit Walcott remains a real threat to any defence. Tags: Arsenal, Theo Walcott, Arsene Wenger, 2010 World Cup Posted: |
