The Future Looks Rosy for Luka Modric

After this summer’s move to Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League, midfield dynamo Luka Modric is in confident mood and is sure he can impress the north London teams huge fan base with his all round play next season.

Twenty-two year old Modrić actually agreed the deal with Spurs back in April and is joining from Dinamo Zagreb for a £15m fee, which as a matter of interest equalled Tottenham's largest ever fee paid out for a player. And with England’s absence from this year’s Euro finals after, incidentally, losing twice to Croatia in the qualifying games, Tottenham supporters will be sure to scrutinise their new acquisitions each and every move. Modrić remains confident though that he will be able to live up to their high expectations.

Having been drawn in Group B with Germany, Austria and Poland, the Croatian team is targeting a place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2008 at the very least. And with expectancy running high, a lot will rest on how Modrić performs in his role behind the two strikers, especially with Eduardo da Silva out with a broken leg.

Modrić is relishing the challenge though, reminding everybody that Croatian coach Slaven Bilic is confident enough in him to let him express his natural talents as they have been working together for nearly four years now.
