The chairman of West Ham Eggert Magnusson admits it is likely that Argentine international Carlos Tevez will be leaving the club soon. Tevez is at the centre of a transfer wrangle involving Manchester United. However, it is almost inevitable that the end result of the controversy will be a transfer to the Premiership champions.

Representatives from ruling bodies FIFA, the Premier League and the English Football Association are all due to meet in order to decide on the ownership of the player. It is still not clear whether West Ham own Tevez or whether agent Kia Joorabchian holds the rights. Carlos Tevez has been away on international duty over the summer and played for Argentina in the Copa America tournament. He has expressed an interest to sign for Manchester United and gain the chance to play in European football in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
