A date has been unveiled when Carlos Tevez will make his debut for new club Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson has earmarked Wednesday’s match Manchester United v Portsmouth for the players first start. After a summer filled with controversy the 23 year old will now get to show his skills on the pitch.

Last season Tevez almost singlehandedly saved West Ham from relegation. It was those heoics which convinced Ferguson to sign the player during the summer. In the final nine matches of the 2006-07 season West Ham won seven with most of the victories down to Tevez.
