English Premier League club Chelsea, have confirmed that manager Jose Mourinho aka “The Special One” has left the club. The two parties agreed to part company by mutual consent despite Mourinho having 3 years left on his contract. Mourinho is expected to pocket up to £25 million in compensation for leaving the club early.

The departure which has shocked fans and players alike came after an emergency meeting between Stamford Bridge executives. Owner Abramovich was said to be furious at the sides poor result against minnows Rosenborg. There has been a lot of media speculation over recent months regarding the frosty relationship between Mourinho and Abramovich. However, all parties were happy as long as the results on the pitch kept rolling in. After a topsy turvy start to the Premiership and the Champions League embarrassment events finally came to a head.

Chelsea are currently 5^th in the Premier League and sit 2 points behind league leaders Arsenal.
