Even thought they cracked the code and beat Spain, Switzerland’s defeat by Chile wasn’t a total surprise and overcoming Honduras is no foregone conclusion.

The set up of the Swiss is ideally suited for when they don’t have the ball. Their defensive game plan worked against the Spanish but Ottmar Hitzfeld’s side should have attacked Chile more.

Admittedly the Swiss were reduced to ten men, but they would have played the same way regardless. Switzerland have some useful players, so it’s up to Hitzfeld to let them see what they can do from an attacking sense in their final game, otherwise they’re deservedly going home from the 2010 World Cup.
