Sulley Muntari - GhanaInter’s Sulley Muntari will hope to carry some of his domestic success into the summer’s World Cup tournament in South Africa. A double winner in 2009/10 as Inter won the Coppa Italia and Serie A, Muntari has patched up his differences with his national team management in the nick of time. ![]() Muntari is an attacking midfield player and came to prominence after signing for Udinese in Serie A. He spent 5 years there, playing more than 100 matches in Serie A, before joining Portsmouth in England during 2007. He spent one season at Fratton Park but played 29 matches, scored four goals including the winner against Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter final, before being part of the Pompey team that lifted the FA Cup at Wembley. He moved back to Italy and has since become an integral part of the Inter team that has won back-to-back Serie A titles. Since his international bow in 2002 Muntari has courted controversy and has featured in both the 2006 World Cup and the 2008 African Cup of Nations as well as retiring, retracting, apologising, going AWOL, and finally making up with his coach prior to South Africa 2010. He will be a welcome addition to the Ghana side. Tags: Sulley Muntari, World Cup, Ghana Posted: |
