Stuttgart beat Energie Cottbus 2-1 to claim the German Bundesliga title for the fifth time in the history of the club. Before the match the club already had a 2 point lead in the German Bundesliga game but secured the title by claiming all 3 points against Cottbus.

Schalke finished in second place after chasing Stuttgart for large portions of the season. Stuttgart claimed the title with an eighth successive league win and now progress with the hopes of claiming a double. The German Cup final on May 26^th sees Stuttgart face up against FC Nuremberg. A double would be a huge achievement for the youngest team in the Bundesliga.
