David Moyes was dealt another low blow in the forward line today after Louis Saha was ruled out for at least another month. A second scan on the hamstring injury sustained during the recent match against Spurs revealed greater damage than was first anticipated.

 

It is the latest bad news story to come out of the blue side of Merseyside and with James Vaughan beginning the long battle back to fitness following knee surgery, and Yakubu already ruled out for the season, Moyes was forced to give Tim Cahill the striking role last week. With the transfer window now open, the Scot would normally be expected to splash the cash on a ready-made replacement but with the purse strings considered tightly drawn these days, he may have to resort to bringing a loan signing to bolster his rapidly diminishing strike force.
