Left back Nicky Shorey has admitted he could leave Reading during the January transfer window. During the summer period a number of clubs were keen on the 26 year old including West Ham. However, a £4 million bid was rejected close to the transfer window with Reading suggesting Shorey is worth twice that.

Shorey has 2 years remaining on his contract but has not ruled out a move. After 6 years at the club he may well find the lure of a new challenge with another club too much to bear. He told the Reading Evening Post: "It would be daft for any player to say he would be here or there this time next year.

"All I know is I will continue to work as hard as I can and give my all to Reading.

"I am as fully committed to the club now as I have been over the last six years I have been here."
