Avram Grant has said that Chelsea striker Andrei Shevchenko will not leave the club this summer, despite recent reports that hinted he could move away from Stamford Bridge.

Shevchenko has been linked with a move back to his former club AC Milan in the summer, but Chelsea manager Avram Grant has denied the reports and said Shevchenko is not leaving the club.

Shevchenko is the third choice striker at Chelsea behind Didier Drogba and January signing Nicholas Anelka. This has led to speculation about his future at the club.

Since moving from AC Milan to Chelsea in June 2006 Shevchenko has struggled to hold down a regular place in the side.

Avram Grant has revealed that he hopes to keep hold of Shevchenko in the summer and that the Ukrainian is in his plans for next season.

Grant said that he wants to keep hold of the squad he has had this season and maybe make one or two additions to it to strengthen it for a title challenge next season.
