Sheff United reinstatement saga

Sheffield United remain confident that an arbitration panel scheduled to meet on 18th June will reinstate the Blades into the English Premier League. The reinstatement would be in light of the fact that the Premier League failed to dock West Ham after the transfer controversy surrounding Carlos Tevez.

Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe remains upbeat about the possibilities for his club and are challenging the decision to fine West Ham rather than remove points and cancel the registration of Tevez. Initially moves against the ruling were met with hostility by the administration at the Premier League. However it appears that if United win their claim then they will regain their status in the English Premier League.

Sheffield United were relegated from the English Premier League after finishing 18th in the league table. They held the same number of points as 17th placed Wigan but cruelly were relegated by goal difference. This issue with the Premiership ruling has dragged on since Marce when the regulation breach surrounding the signings of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano first came to light. All teams will be hoping that the saga can draw to a close following the arbitration panel decision.
