Scottish Premier League Round Up Feb 2011![]() The Old Firm continue to dominate the Scottish Premier League. Celtic head Rangers by five points although the Ger’s do hold two games in hand on their Glasgow neighbours. Hamilton Academicals remain rooted to the bottom, a similar number of points adrift of nearest placed St Mirren.
The Bhoys restored their gap at the top with a 3-1 win at mid-table Dundee United. Goal from Anthony Stokes and Mark Wilson had given the visitors a 2-0 lead before David Goodwillie grabbed one back for the home team. However, Swede Daniel Majstorovic headed home late on to secure all three points for Neil Lennon’s team. Rangers maintained the pressure following the 6-0 hammering inflicted on Motherwell 24 hours previously. Nikica Jelavic grabbed the headlines with a hat-trick whilst Steven Naismith and David Healey, with his first for the club, got on the score-sheet, Shaun Hutchinson unfortunately putting through his own goal to complete the route. Hearts stay a clear third as two Stephen Elliott goals were enough to claim all three points at Hamilton. Kilmarnock lost more ground and are now a distant fourth after losing out in a tight-fought 2-1 game at Easter Road. The points lifted Hibernian further away from the bottom as St Mirren gained a valuable point in an entertaining 3-3 draw with 5th-placed Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
