Robbie Savage has completed a £1.5 million move from UEFA Cup hopefuls Blackburn to down and out Derby. Derby sit rock bottom in the league table but Savage already 33 insists Derby can fulfill his ambitions.

"I have walked away from European football with Blackburn because the manager admitted I might not play as much as I would like. Paul Jewell showed he wanted me and I am delighted to come."

Derby have only managed 1 victory so far this season and Paul Jewell's men look doomed for relegation. Derby have also signed another midfielder in the transfer window. Spurs player Hossam Ghaly is set to sign along with keeper Roy Carroll from Rangers before their next Premiership game.
