Samuel Eto’o - CameroonSamuel Eto’o has become one of the most noted strikers in African football and has plied his trade with the best in Europa, having just won the Serie A title with Inter after spending 5 successful years at Barcelona. After signing but not playing for Real Madrid due to his age, Eto’o spent several seasons on loan to different clubs before finding a home in Majorca. Including his loan spell, he scored 54 goals in 133 appearances for Majorca, form that attracted Barcelona and it was for them he signed in 2004 for 24M Euros. The investment was to prove a wise on as, in 145 matches, he netted 108 times including both the 2006 and 2009 UEFA Champions League finals which Barcelona won. 2009 also aw Eto’o claim his third La Liga title and also the Copa del Rey before signing for Jose Mourinho’s Inter side who won the Italian league and cup double in 2010. Eto’o first played international football at 15 and has represented his country - Cameroon at the 1998, 2002, and 2006 World Cup’s as well as the Olympic Gold Medal winning side of 2000.
