Roma Consolation for HodgsonFulham boss Roy Hodgson has scooped the monthly Manager Of The Month award for October following the Cottagers excellent unbeaten run during the month.
Away draws against West Ham and Manchester City were supplemented by wins over Hull City and Liverpool have moved Fulham into relative safety in mid-table with the latest win against the Reds securing Hodgson’s third such award in England. It comes in the same week that he saw his side controversially beaten in Italy by a combination of a determined Roma side and some debatable refereeing. Hodgson’s 37 year-old goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer is confident that his teammates will bounce back from their Europa League disappointment. Having taken an initial lead thanks to Diomansy Kamara, Fulham eventually succumbed to a series of questionable decisions and ended the game with only nine men on the field following the dismissals of Paul Konchesky and Erik Nevland. The Aussie international has maintained a positive outlook though.
"I don't think it will affect the team," he said "We've had a very good run the last couple of weeks and decisions…were made that were out of our hands. The key to it will be to recover as much as possible." Tags: Fulham, Roy Hodgson, Mark Schwarzer, Europa League, Diomansy Kamara Posted: |
