Roland Linz - AustriaRoland Linz is one of Austria’s great wanderers and seems to change clubs nearly every year. He left his hometown team of DSV Leoben with Austria Vienna as his destination, back in 2001. He stayed with them for, what would turn out to be a rarity for him, a second successive season, helping them to the Austrian double of league and cup, but since achieving this has managed to change teams every season since.
He followed his stint with Austria Vienna by going out on loan to Admira Wacker, Nice and Sturm Graz before a triumphant return to Austria Vienna in the 2005/2006 season where they were to go on and win another double, with Linz finishing the seasons joint-top scorer on fifteen goals. This was followed by a move to Portugal where he played for Boavista in 2006/2007 followed by a jump to Braga in 2007/2008.
The player has quite a knack of scoring frequent goals when he is at domestic level, but on the international stage he has found things a bit harder, with goals relatively difficult to find. He does remain though, one of Austria’s great attacking hopes for the Euro 2008 finals.

He probably enjoyed his best international performance in his career so far during a World Cup qualifier in Poland back in 2006 when he scored two goals after Austria were 3-0 down; and he was only deprived of his hat-trick when he hit the bar in the last minute.
