Tony Mowbray received a massive boost when the red card handed to defender Paul Robinson on Tuesday night was rescinded.

 

Referee Rob Styles gave Robinson a straight red for a tackle on Manchester United’s Ji-Sung Park and the 30 year-old was looking at a three match ban before the appeal was successful. This frees the clubs vice captain to face Hull City, Newcastle and Fulham in quick succession and having an almost ever-present back in the team will add to the determination around the Hawthorns not to let the 5-0 drubbing by the champions damage morale too much.

Mowbray was grateful to the FA panel for making such a swift decision and is delighted to have such an influential player back available so quickly. “He is a leader and it's important that teams have those sort of personalities on the pitch“.
