Netherlands star Arjen Robben could make a dramatic return to action, his first of the tournament, as his side face Cameroon in their last Group E game on Thursday.

 

The 26 year-old winger pocked up a hamstring injury in a warm up match against Hungary and is desperate to make his mark at South Africa 2010. However, with progression to the knock-out stages assured, the Dutch are unlikely to take any risks. “These last few days I have trained normally without any problems” said the former Chelsea and Real Madrid man, “Playing against Cameroon is possible”.

Meanwhile, striker Robin van Persie has received the backing of coach Bert van Marwijk. The Arsenal front man continues to struggle with form after returning from injury but van Marwijk revealed that he would start with him on Thursday. “He (van Persie) is not happy but he is going to get getter, I am sure of that” he said.
