Holland’s Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben faces a race against time to be fit to take his place in the Netherlands squad for South Africa 2010. The winger tore a hamstring against Hungary whilst attempting a back heel after scoring two goals in the 6- win. However, with the results of a scan showing only a small tear, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid man remains hopeful that he can play a full part in the tournament.

 

Robben said “If I just let it heal then I’m back in four to six weeks, but we don’t have so much time. Dick van Toorn is going to help me. We’re going to work incredibly hard. I’m going to fight until I drop”.

The World Cup has not stopped the domestic dealings and Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has been linked with moves to Portugal and England. However, the 26 year-old has pledged his immediate future to AC Milan saying “No other club interest me. My agent has never spoken about a transfer and I want to stay at Milan. I will not leave Milan until I have demonstrated my worth”. Huntelaar still has three years left on his contract at the San Siro.
