Ricky Horror Show

Following the dismal display in the 3-0 defeat to bottom club West Bromwich Albion, the powers at Sunderland have called on the players to show passion for the cause to keep the Black Cats in the Premier League.

Chairman Niall Quinn led the voices after admitting that his team had ‘a very, very poor game’ against the Baggies. "Sunderland fans just want to see the team give genuine effort, genuine passion and run until they drop” he said, “that's what we have got to do for the next few games.”

Defeat saw the Mackems sat only 4 points clear of the drop zone with four games to play. Manager Ricky Sbragia decided to make the players relive the match and forced them to watch to whole horrific 90 minutes again in the hope that he will see a response in their next match. The visit of Everton is another difficult challenge facing Sunderland and with Bolton and Portsmouth to come and Chelsea on the final day of the season, relegation is not yet a distant memory at the Stadium Of Light. Sbragia said “We've started afresh today. We've got to focus on Everton now, look ahead and put what happened last weekend behind us.”
