Tottenham Hotspurs are believed to be close to making a formal bid for West Ham United striker Craig Bellamy. The former Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers player has made some positive contributions to the struggling Hammers this season but it is believed that the cash-strapped club will be forced into accepting any reasonable bid for him.

 

Redknapp is understood to be looking for attacking options in the January transfer window. Following the loss of Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov in the summer, Spurs have struggled for goals and have been largely reliant on the services of Darren Bent and Roman Pavlyuchenko. Neither striker has succeeded in replacing them.

Bellamy has struggled with injuries in recent years, but this season he has managed to make fourteen appearances so far and scored two goals.
