Redknapp Confident That Kanu Will Be Fit SoonPortsmouth Manager Harry Redknapp is hopeful that by the end of the current international break he will be able to add strikers Kanu and David Nugent to his squad. For the first three games of the new Premier League season, Portsmouth have been restricted to just three strikers to chose from. New signings Peter Crouch and Ben Sahar have been supporting Jermain Defoe but there has been no one else to help Redknapp
Following a recent reserve team game, Redknapp was pleased to report that both players came through without problems. Kanu has missed all of the pre-season with a dead leg and ankle problems. Nugent has been nursing a groin problem.
Redknapp said “We've been short of cover up front. Ideally you want four or five strikers to choose from every game…We don't want to push them too much, you don't want anything else to happen. We'll just have to see how they get on”.
Portsmouth are at home to Middlesbrough in their next game.
