In a dramatic couple of days, Tottenham Hotspurs have announced that Harry Redknapp will replace Juande Ramos as the new manager of the club.

Under Ramos, Tottenham have endured the worst start to a season in their history and as such speculation regarding the future of the Spaniard had begun to gather pace over the last few weeks. Ramos leaves the club after just twelve month in charge at White Hart Lane.

Moving quickly, Tottenham have convinced Redknapp to leave Portsmouth for a new challenge. The club’s website read “In appointing Harry Redknapp as our new manager, we are delighted to have secured the services of someone we have long since admired and whose track record and knowledge…is outstanding”.

The club has also said that Clive Allen will initially act as a caretaker manager for the weekend game against Bolton Wanderers.

Spurs are currently bottom of the Premier League without a win all season.
