Real Madrid have pulled off a late coup before the start of their Primera Liga season. The Spanish giants have signed Arjen Robben from Chelsea and Gabriel Heinze from Manchester United after both passed routine medicals at the club. 23 year old Robben has been a long term target for Real and has signed a 5 year contract with the Spanish champions. The deal was set at a reported £21m.

Gabriel Heinze who has been a thorn in the side for Sir Alex Ferguson has arrived from Premiership champions Manchester United for around £8m. The defender was refused a move to Liverpool and then sought help from a Premiership arbitration pane. The feisty Argentine international now returns to Spain with hope of a more settled future.
