Ranieri Sets Sights On CityParma and former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri has expressed his interest in the vacant managerial post at Manchester City. Ranieri has spent the season with Serie A team Parma and secured top flight survival for the club. Despite being offered an extension to his contract in Italy the 55 year old seems to have made up his mind and wants to return to the English Premier League. During his time at Chelsea Ranieri guided the team to the Champions League semi finals and also to a runners up finish in the English Premier League. He was replaced when Chelsea owner Abramovich appointed Jose Mourinho to the club. Ranieri’s decision to move to a club which had a dismal season is partly influenced by the upcoming takeover. A £100m takeover of City has long been planned which would provide a significant transfer kitty for any new manager.Tags: Claudio Ranieri, Manchester City, Serie A, Parma, Champions League, English Premier League Posted: |
