Pulis Quiet Over Contract

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis would not be drawn on speculation surrounding his position.

The Potters boss has guided City to the Premiership safety zone and has defied all expectations in allowing Stoke fans to dream of a second season of top flight football. However, rumours that his success will be rewarded with a new deal were met by a muted response. "I haven't sat down with Peter to talk fully about next season, never mind talk about any three-year contract," Pulis said "I'm on a rolling contract as things stand and I'm quite happy with that arrangement. It suits me and seems to suit Peter that way. I have the best chairman in the world, so I don't have to be looking over my shoulder at my contract situation all the time."

Chairman Peter Coates is looking to progress during next season and is targeting achieving safety at a much earlier stage. He expressed his delight with the squad and manager Pulis but has no intentions of wallowing in success. "It has been a big learning curve and I am sure they will know a lot more. The experience will stand us in good stead hopefully and we've got to push on and get a bit better."
