26 year old Scott Parker will miss out on Newcastle United’s final game of the season against already relegated Watford. The Newcastle midfielder will undergo a hernia operation and is ruled out of playing. However it is expected that Parker will be available to take part in pre season training after the summer break. Parker’s injury is a result of a problem which has hindered the player since Christmas. The decision was taken by management and the player to undergo surgery on Friday.

Scott Parker adds to Newcastle’s tally of injuries this season. Astonishingly he is the 11^th player at the club to undergo an operation during the course of the 2006-07 English Premier League season. Damien Duff joins Scott Parker. Duff has had recent surgery on his foot and is feared to be sidelined until October.
