Pardew Bubble Burst Already?Such is the fickle nature of football, particularly on Tyneside, all hostility towards Alan Pardew was quickly forgotten when Newcastle United blew Liverpool away in his first game in charge since the controversial dismissal of Chris Hughton. The fact is that as long as a team is getting the right results, even the most unlikeable appointment won’t matter a jot to the supporters. But all it needs is for two or three games to go the wrong way and it won’t be long before fans start to remember what made them angry in the first place. ![]() In fairness, results against Manchester City and Tottenham aren’t going to be the making of any manager of Newcastle but less than a month into his reign Pardew is on the verge of walking a tight rope, especially if it’s three defeats on the bounce this weekend. Regardless of who is standing on the touchline though their troubled prodigy Andy Carroll continues to grow from strength-to-strength on the pitch with every game. Apparently he’s a questionable character off it but on the field he’s a fearless powerhouse who isn’t fazed by the quality of the opposition and enjoys scoring against the teams that matter – Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City to name a few. If Newcastle want to be mentioned in the same breadth as the aforementioned, Pardew, even with Carroll in his ranks, has a long arduous road ahead of him.
