Olsson Shows Rovers The Way
Blackburn Rovers Premier League status may be secured if Martin Olsson continues in the rich vein of form he is currently showing.
Exemplified by his stunning strike which secured all three points against Hull City at Ewood Park midweek, boss Sam Allardyce believes that Olsson’s performances are just what Rovers need at the moment. “The goal was a top drawer, the diagonal, the first touch, the run, and then he hits a hard low shot, which hits the keeper and goes into the net“ said Allardyce, “He is doing excellent. He has emerged by some gentle encouragement and some playing of cup games. He has done left back and wide left for us and he is very good young, emerging talent.”
Allardyce has called on his players to use their break in Dubai as a stepping stone towards building on the momentum from the win against Hull. Primary in his thoughts is retaining their Premier League status and whilst they currently have a points cushion, he is taking nothing for granted. "We will have a little break, recharge our batteries and push on from here” said Allardyce. "We have got some big teams later on so we want to get the points in the bag as soon as we can."
