The Preston based striker has been targeted by Sunderland who have been given permission to talk to the player. Nugent was given permission to speak with the 2 clubs after he returned from England’s Under 21 Euro 2007 games last week. It is believed that he has already met with Sunderland but West Ham and Everton have also been linked with the young player. David Nugent left Bury to join Preston back in January of 2005 for a reported fee of £100,000. The striker has scored 33 times in 94 appearances in the championship.
