Striker Ole Gunnar Solskjær is out of Norway's must-win clash against Malta further adding to the headache of coach Åge Hareide. The iconic Manchester United striker is facing a knee injury, but will be tested on Sunday to see if he can be fit for the 6 June clash with Hungary.

Norway are currently fourth in Group C and need to win to retain any hopes of making ti through to Euro 2008 finals. Their injury problems were compounded when midfielder Fredrik Strømstad pulled out due to a thigh injury. The 25-year-old has scored two goals in five matches and Norway are bound to miss him.

Meanwhile goalkeeper Thomas Myhre was dropped from the squad to face Malta and Hungary. His error-prone goalkeeping in the games against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Turkey might have been responsible for the situation. Coach Åge Hareide confirmed this saying, "At this level, you can't make mistakes. We had an unpleasant experience with this last time."

Espen Ruud retains his place at the right-back spot ahead of Anders Rambekk. "Ruud is better in attack than Rambekk and I reckon we will need creativity going forward in these matches," Hareide observed.

Malta who are currently in the sixth position have named an unchanged squad for the Norway and Bosnia Herzegovina games. Malta coach Dušan Fitzel wants at least one win from both these games.

Malta captain Gilbert Agius is in line to notch up his 100th appearance for his country. "Playing your 100th international match for your country is really a proud moment to savour but the important thing is that we get good results from both games," Agius admitted.

Norway are in the fourth place in group C with seven points from five matches, while Malta are in the sixth spot with four points from five matches. The Euro 2008 qualifier between Norway v Malta will take place on Saturday and kick off at the strange time of 19:05 GMT.
