Road to 2010 World Cup

North Korea started their qualification campaign on an excellent note, thrashing Mongolia 9-2 on aggregate. Kim Jong-Hun’s side followed it up with another good display in the third round, matching their arch rivals South Korea to finish second in the group before climbing over much fancied Saudi Arabia by holding them to a 0-0 draw in their final group game.

Key Players

Coach Jong-Hun will once again be relying on a tight defense with North Korea conceding just seven goals from their 16 qualifying games. However a major concern will be their lack of goals up front with Mun In-Guk being the top scorer with just two goals in the whole qualifying campaign.
