No Regrets For Robinson

Despite calls from boss Sam Allardyce for an international recall, Blackburn Rovers keeper Paul Robinson has said that he is satisfied and will stick with his decision to retire from England duty. Following some impressive performances, Allardyce had suggested that Fabio Capello should consider asking Robinson to reconsider but the former Spurs goalie is committed to playing league football only from now onwards. “I feel really good and pleased with how I am playing”, he said, “I have been training hard, working hard and reaping the rewards by making saves at important times.”

Allardyce himself has responded to his side’s home form by calling for them to repeat it away from Ewood Park. With only 6 home losses since he took over, the former Newcastle and Bolton manager knows that the key to progression in the Premier League is away form. “We’ve created that little bit of fear from the opposition coming to play us at Ewood. If we can be that hard to beat away from home then we can start having a good run of results.”

18-year old youth product Josh Morris has signed a deal that will keep him at Ewood until 2012. Despite not yet having a first-team start, he has been with the club since he was 13 and is definitely one for the future.
