Newcastle chase GeremiNew Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce has declared his interest and is hot on the heals of Chelsea player Geremi. The 28 year old made 23 appearances and 5 from the bence during the 2006-07 season with Chelsea. However, due to the squad rotation system of Mourinho amongst other factors Geremi was unable to claim a regular first team place with the club. Another North East team – Middlesbrough have been linked with the player but have denied any speculation. The course looks set for a transfer to Tyneside for the utility player as his contract with Chelsea expires. He will be a welcome addition to Newcastle United and will join new and old faces for their 2007-08 Premier League campaign.
