Fresh from his debut in the 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge, the 28 year-old striker who joined until the end of the season from Wigan signalled his willingness to commit fully to the cause of maintaining Middlesbrough’s decade-long uninterrupted run in the top flight. The Jamaican international had a less than successful start to his career with Boro playing on his own up front against Chelsea. However, he is convinced that players and fans can combine to make the Riverside a very difficult place to come to for visiting teams.

Without a win in ten league games, Boro boss Gareth Southgate will be expecting his entire squad to rally to the call.
