Netherlands 1-1 Denmark

The Netherlands were held to a 1-1 draw by Denmark in Eindhoven in their penultimate warm up game before Euro 2008. It was a game that the Dutch would have won comfortably, had their attacking players not squandered so many chances. Their defence looked shaky, and one could spot Van der Sar yelling at them to get organised.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy volleyed home in the third minute, but the goal was disallowed for offside. The Real Madrid forward then scored in the 28th minute after Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben had combined to set him up to beat Jesper Christiansen. Nicklas Bendtner caused the Dutch plenty of problems at the back, and it was one such frailty that was exploited by the Arsenal forward and Christian Poulsen for Denmark's equaliser 10 minutes after half time.

Joris Mathijsen headed wide of an open net, Robben failed to convert after having only the goalkeeper to beat, Rafael Van der Vaart's shots lacked precision and direction, Sneijder hit the bar- the Dutch had plenty of chances to wrap up the game, but in the end, they had to settle for a draw.

The Netherlands play Wales in Rotterdam in their final warm up game.
