Nelsen On The Comeback Trail

Blackburn Rovers Captain Ryan Nelsen could be back in action in a month as initial concerns over his long term fitness we allayed.

The New Zealand international suffered a knee injury against Bolton and there were worries over potentially serious ligament damage. However, the injury is expected only to be a twist ruling out the player for up to a month meaning his World Cup dream remains intact. The return of Chris Samba from suspension will help cover the absence of Nelsen.

Boss Sam Allardyce has urged teenage starlet Junior Hoilett to sign the contract on offer to him. The deal has been on the table for some time and Allardyce describes it as ’outstanding‘. However, the 19 year-old Canadian has yet to make uop his mind and Allardyce blames external parties. "Hoilett has been here a while and knows the whole set-up but agents are involved and we can't get him to where we want him to be and that is frustrating. If it is about money it shouldn't be at this early stage in life. We feel we have made him an outstanding offer. We just hope he will eventually sign."

‘Highly recommended’ is the description Leyton Orient boss Geraint Williams gave to Aaron Doran as he joined for a months loan. The player is held in high regard at Ewood Park but the experience that the loan spell will give him will benefit all parties.
