Reading defender and captain Graeme Murty has not ruled out a return to the first team this season for the club.

Murty has been out injured for the past two Reading matches but has not ruled out a return to action this season for the club to help them fight against relegation.

Murty said that he thought the knee was almost ready to play on again, but it’s very frustrating not being able to play. He thinks that he needs to make sure he doesn’t rush back into action but wants to play again this season.

He added that he needs to know 100% that everything is fine before getting back into training, and won’t do anything that will put a return this season in doubt.

Murty grew up as a Liverpool fan and watched as Reading lost 2-1 to them at the weekend. He admitted that it was frustrating watching from the stands and he wanted to be playing up against Liverpool striker Fernando Torres but won’t rush back into action.
