Mowbray Set To Be Without Injured Trio

Tony Mowbray is likely to be without three key players for the forthcoming visit to Premier League champions Manchester United. The West Brom manager does not expect Chris Brunt, Abdoulaye Meite or Filipe Teixeira to be fit enough to make the game at Old Trafford.

Meite is the one who is least likely to make the game. The former Bolton defender has not featured for his new club since he suffered a calf injury in August. Mowbray said “Meite is a bit behind the other two…He hasn't actually been around our training sessions whereas Brunty was joining in the warm-ups and Teixeira is doing pretty much everything”.

Brunt has been sidelined for the last few games with a hamstring problem but Mowbray expects him back soon. He said “Hopefully we'll get Chris training this week and then we will see how he comes through that.”

Teixeira has missed the last six months with a knee injury but has now returned to full fitness. Mowbray however thinks that the United game may come too soon for him, he said “I don't envisage any problems with Filipe. He just needs games really”.
